Recommended Hardware: Battery Backup

Important: Crave Broadband does not sell battery backup / UPS hardware. This page is guidance only.
We highly recommend that you power your Crave Broadband dish and router with a UPS, often referred to as a battery backup. Not only will this help keep your Internet service up during power outages, it will help protect the equipment it powers from brown-outs, “sags”, and “dirty power”.
A plain “surge protector” is not the same as a UPS and won't help against browns and sags. Your connection will still depend on power at the tower — a UPS only covers your local equipment.
